FOUND: David Soto - Missing autistic teen found unharmed but cold and wet

WILDOMAR: Missing autistic teen found unharmed | Breaking News | PE.com - Press-Enterprise

A 17-year-old boy with autism, whose disappearance from his Wildomar home launched a nearly 24-hour search through the city and beyond, was found cold and wet but otherwise unharmed Thursday afternoon, Oct. 11.
David Soto, an Elsinore High School student who has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old, left a note for his family Wednesday afternoon telling them he was going treasure hunting, a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department news release said. He had last been seen wearing a pirate Halloween costume around his home in the 35300 block of Chloe Court about 4 p.m.
City officials rallied dozens of volunteers Thursday morning to help sheriff’s deputies comb the city for David, Councilwoman Bridgette Moore said. That afternoon, David rang the doorbell of a house on Cameo Lane, which dead ends at the rugged foothills on the west side of Wildomar.
