The “Code Red” emergency activation system was issued to residents within a one mile radius to “alert residents of the presence of law enforcement and to be aware they were searching for the child,” said Rowan County EMS Director Danny Blevins.
At 11:29 p.m. a second search of the home produced the child hiding in the residence unharmed.
